Each year, around this time, we take some time to reflect on God’s purpose for New Life. This helps us to remember what He has called us to be as a church. God’s plans and God’s purposes are just that–they are from God. If any of us have learned anything over the years it is that God knows best. We will always have our opinions, but God’s ways, thoughts, and plans will always be above ours and better than anything we could come up with.
We begin this week by focusing on one such trait that has been God’s plan for His people from the very beginning: UNITY. United we stand, divided we fall. It is as simple and as challenging as that. While we may look around and see the fruits of division in the world around us, Paul’s first letter to the Corinthian church forbids it and warns against any division or lack of unity in the Body of Christ.
