Dear Church Family,
Each moment brings new information regarding COVID-19 and guidelines put into place so that we can navigate this season in a healthy manner. We want to honor the officials who have placed these guidelines and do our part in slowing the spread of this virus.
We also understand that, as a church, we have a responsibility to continue with our Great Commission. As things continue to slow and close down, the urgency of our call does not dissipate. That said, we are making adjustments to our scheduled ministries so that we can safely serve you and your family.
Please know, as small groups continue to operate at the leaders’ discretion, our groups also will remain in compliance with Governor Evers’ ban on gatherings of ten or more. Additionally, they will meet social distancing standards of six feet. Our drive-through food pantry remains open on Tuesdays from 5:30 through 7:00 pm. Our Act Like Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, March 21st will be meeting exclusively online. Details and a link to follow on their Facebook page as well as right here.
In partnership with the School District of Janesville, we will be providing drive-up meals for families this Saturday, March 21st. If you are available and willing to assist in serving our community, please contact the church offices at 608-756-4175. We also desire to serve our church family through this difficult time. If you find yourself in need — frankly, if there is anything we can do to serve you — we remain available to do so. Do not hesitate to contact us. Our pastoral team continues to remain open and available to serve you and pray with you.
Each of our ministries will be posting content to our Facebook on the regular. If you don’t follow us already, please visit fb.com/JanesvilleNLAG. In addition to content from our pastoral team, we will be sharing different specifically curated playlists to engage your families in worship during this time.
You can also check out both of New Life’s available podcasts. Every one of our sermons is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Pastor Jason and Pastor Cameron also host a podcast entitled You’ve Asked for It, where they tackle questions in a conversational format. And, hey, while you’re listening, feel free to submit some questions of your own. This podcast is also available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
We will, however, be closing the building for our Wednesday evening ministries this week and we will not be meeting next week (as has been scheduled for some time due to Spring Break). This includes, Girls Only Club, Mpact, Royal Rangers, Kids’ Choir Practice, New Life Youth, and Midweek Electives. We hosted a quick livestream instead with some updated including a brief thought for the week. If you missed it, no worries! You can still check it out here.
Parents, please continue to be encouraging your child to engage with our Kids’ Choir songs and scripts! We may not be having practices together, but we can each be doing our part and practicing at home. We continue to evaluate our options for the performance and will communicate clearly decisions as they are made.
Furthermore, our Saturday evening prayer service will be taken remote! We need to pray earnestly during this trying season for our world. Would you consider setting an alarm or an appointment on your phone as a reminder to join in prayer with us every Saturday evening at 7:00 pm. While we may not physically be together, we will continue to be a church that prays together.
Couple Connection will also not be meeting on Saturday, March 21st. Instead, we will be posting the last video in the series What Happy Couples Know to our Facebook along with a discussion guide and some at-home date ideas at 5:30 pm. Be sure to check it out and make the most of these moments we have with our families at home. Please be sure to connect with Pastor Cameron for more information.
Atlanta Missions Trip
Also, our Atlanta missions trip has presently been postponed. At this moment, we don’t have further information, but we will continue to be in contact with those on the missions team.
Sunday Morning Services
Finally, we are moving to a livestream-only option for this Sunday, March 22nd. Our building will be closed. We encourage you and your families to tune into nlag.net/live at 10:15 am, as we will kick the morning off with Pastor Tyler and a moment for your kiddos. Then, Pastor Jason will be kicking off our newest series Broken Pieces, right around 10:30 am. We would love you to interact with us on our page during this time as we are intentionally maintaining our connection as a church. Our pastoral staff will be available online to connect with you and pray with you, as well. If you miss the livestream, our broadcast will continue to remain available for you to watch at your convenience.
Online Giving Options
During this time, we continue to support our missionaries across the world and our ministries to our local community. Please know there are online giving options available to you by visiting nlag.net/give. If you have any questions whatsoever in setting up online giving, please contact our Business Administrator at email@example.com. Of course, you can also mail any contributions to our offices at 2416 N Wright Road.
As this is a developing situation, our team will reassess our ministries on Monday, March 23rd to determine the next best course of action. In the meantime, please check out our website, specifically our calendar at nlag.net/calendar . We are keeping that as updated as possible so you know what is available to you and your family.
Friends, we care for you and love you deeply. The church has always been more than a building; may we fully realize this calling during these times.
