Food Pantry

In a nation of affluence and abundance, there are still hungry people; and, they are living right in our midst, not in some far away country. The New Life Food Pantry in Janesville is doing its best to feed those in need in our area.

For assistance inquiries other than food, please contact Faith Works at 608-531-1880. This is a local ministry we support monthly.

Hours of Operation

The Food Pantry is officially open every Tuesday evening from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

Record Keeping

We are required by Second Harvest Food Bank to keep records of the amounts of food that we distribute and collect accurate information from those who receive donations. We must document the date of distribution, the client’s name, address, phone number (in case of food recalls), the number of people in the household as well as their age group and verify the client’s gross income level. This information is required so that we might better assist our community.

Client Eligibility

Professed need and one proof of Janesville residency is required (up-to-date driver’s license, mail, renter’s agreement, etc.). Assistance is limited to no more than once a month (at least 30 days between visits). This allows us to help more people in need.

Type of Assistance Available

We provide two pre-packed bags of groceries per household, usually consisting of breakfast items, pasta and other starches, vegetables, soup, and a piece of frozen meat.

Statistics

Each month, New Life aids an average of 50 families with our food pantry (some months up to 90 families), serving a monthly average of 150 people in the community of Janesville.
