The basics are the little things that make a big difference. You can’t learn to run if you are unable to walk. You can’t play a piano sonata if you are unable to find middle C. You can’t write a novel if you don’t know your ABC’s.
In the life of a new believer, there are a few basic things that we need to learn in order to develop a strong and healthy foundation. As is often the case, even those who have a lot of experience find times where they need to return to the basics in order to grow and advance.
As New Life is moving forward in fulfilling our calling as a church, we need to ensure that our foundation is strong. Over the next three weeks, we will be examining three basic contexts in which we can grow as believers: through one-on-one time with God, relationships formed in small groups, and in the corporate worship experience. As we grow in each of these three areas, we as individuals, and as a church, will be able to do things, and see God do things, that were once beyond our abilities.
