What do James, the brother of Jesus, and Captain James Lovell have in common? They can both teach us a thing or two about trials. This Sunday, we begin our 5-part series on the book of James and dive right in with the wonderful statement found in verse two, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds.” Trials don’t have to make you bitter. As some have said, they can make you better. At least, that is what God desires from them.
So, if you are going through a trial, come expecting to hear from God in this message. If life is going great, come expecting to hear from God something that you will be able to use on a rainy day. As President Kennedy famously said, “The best time to fix the roof is when the sun is shining.”
If you haven’t already done so, we invite you to follow along at home and read one chapter a week from the book of James. Rain or shine, you will be glad that you did.
