What do you do when following God’s plans ends up meaning that your life turns out so very different than you thought it would? What do you do when God keeps inviting you out of your comfort zone until you are faced with God asking you to do something that you just don’t know if you are able to do? What do you do when you wake up and find that you are in a position that only God could get you in, and only God can get you out of? That is precisely where Gideon finds himself in this fourth part of our Summer Thriving Series.
Gideon has already lost over two-thirds of his army due to fear, and God then sends 97% of the remaining soldiers back to their tents and asks Gideon to do something far riskier and scarier than anything He has asked Him to do before. We talked about faith and obedience last week, but this week faith and obedience have some real dangerous consequences. What should Gideon do? What should we do when we find ourselves in a place that only God could get us in and only God could get us out of? I suspect many reading this already know, and despite knowing what we should do it is still often a challenge.
