What do you want to be when you grow up? If you are like most Americans, that is a question you started hearing at a young age and may still be hearing today. What do I want to do? Who am I? What do I want to become? These are not unfamiliar questions that perhaps comes from various familiar voices.
As we both conclude our Without series and our church-wide invitation to a 21-day fast, we wrestle with the question of our true identity. Does our identity come from our careers, our accomplishments, our possessions, or our memories and experiences? Or, is it just quite possible that there are a few more things that we need to learn to live without in order to find peace and fulfillment in this life.
